I just got home a couple of hours ago from watching M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘The Last Airbender’. I would like to sadly say it was a horrible movie. When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I was kind of scared to spend a 3D matinee ticket for it. Why? I saw M. Night Shyamalan was writing & directing it and I’m not into his movies since ‘The Sixth Sense’. I figured I’d brush off my doubt and just watch it. With the cartoon series being action & comedy packed, there’s no way he could mess it up. I was wrong. I don’t want to give out any spoilers so I’ll try my best. For the most part…if you have seen the 1st season of cartoon series, prepare to be disappointed. The bending fights could’ve been a lot better and more action packed. I wish there was more comedy parts like in the cartoon series. I understand that it must be hard to fit 10 hours worth of Season 1 episodes into an hour and 45 minute movie. I’m not picky when it comes to movies…So I figured that as long as the 3D was good and element bending fights, I’d be happy.
Uh, based on this post…you can tell I’m not happy. It’s just heartbreaking to take such a good show, and change it to where you just drop the ball. I’m really curious and scared for the upcoming movies.
BUT I guess the good news is…if you haven’t seen the show, it’s an okay movie…to watch at home.
