[Shared Topic] Pronounce & Rename WoW…

Hello Everyone!

How’s it going? Awesome, I hope. Everything is going awesome with me. I still have my kick for videos at the moment. While I was watching YouTube videos the other day, I came across two videos which involved pronouncing words that are World of Warcraft related. I thought they were both very interesting videos from Akyrix and Beso. Unfortunately, I am at a disadvantage and cannot seem to find the perfect time/balance between peace and quiet long enough to record a video. Not to mention editing and rendering one. I’m sure I’ll do a video as soon as possible. Oh Look! Here it is!

On another note:

Every week over at BlogAzeroth, there’s a little “event” that happens and it’s called Shared Topic. This is where someone from the blogging community shares an idea or question, and other bloggers respond in their blog post. If you already know this, I’m sorry I wasted your time. So let’s begin! This week’s Shared topic is open from June 25th to July 1, and is shared by Frinka from Warcraft Street:

Knowing what you know now about the game, what name other than World of Warcraft would you give it? Why?

Good Question. Like many other bloggers who respond to this post, I was not sure what other name I would call World of Warcraft. After many thinking sessions, I decided to have fun with it and make up a silly names for it, based on my experience while playing World of Warcraft.

  1. Azerothity –  Combining Humanity and Azeroth. I just got done taking Humanities as a college class. Even though WoW is a pixel-world, there are people behind it giving the game personality. Sometimes you end up creating a bond with those people that goes beyond the pixel world, and into reality. All in all, I have met and learned so much based on the people playing this game. I can’t really explain it, but if you have taking a Humanities class, you can possibly figure it out.
  2. Warcraft: Evolution –  Simply because it’s Warcraft but it’s evolved to a different point of view and the ‘evolution’ of the game based on all the expansions. Possibly change Warcraft to Azeroth. I also choose this name, because I have changed a lot since playing this game. My personality hasn’t changed, but the game has made me more vocal in my thoughts and feeling less vulnerable. HA! Less vulnerable. I just meant that I have become stronger by having more patience, and feeling less like I am alone. Hmm, guess that’s as close as I’m going to get without sounding pathetic.
  3. The Warcraft Society – Ok, I just made this up right now. I just wanted to add a third name, because I’m OCD like that. it’s not a really good name, but…yea…

AND…I’m going to try and sum up what else I have been doing. As you can tell by the new look of my site, that I love this drawing I did. I am quite proud of it, and it’s based off of Roxanne from “A Goofy Movie“. I was given a beta key to SMITE as well as a trial to Star Wars: The Old Republic by friends. I’ll save my reviews for both games for another day. With that said, I am done with this blog post! Hope you enjoyed it!

I love the idea you elude to — Azeroth: Evolution. Really nice!

Hey! First off, apologies, I actually wanted to respond to this post when it was still ‘active’.

In any case, I loved the video you did! It was cool to hear how you pronounce certain words and then compare to how I pronounce them. I’ve always read Loque’nahak as [lo-kay-na-haahk] in my head; all of this reminds me of the April Fool’s patch 1.11 “evil patch notes” and Scholomance’s new spelling. (Even after those, I still catch myself saying [sholomance] every now and then.)

    Great post!
