So I just thought I’d make a quick post about my favorite things about a raid. I was on the verge of falling asleep during the last hour of my guild’s 25man Firelands raid. We started our raid day by extending the raid lockout, and doing attempts on Ragnaros. We never downed him. I honestly don’t remember how close we got to him. I just know I kept dying. After about 2 hours of attempts on him, we decided to reset the instance and actually kill some bosses. We downed Shannox, Beth’liac, and Rhynolith before calling it a night. Did I get anything? Nope. I was really hoping Rhynolith would drop a decent helm (one with Spirit), but he didn’t drop one. So my favorite parts of raiding…
1) Downing a boss – I like downing bosses. I like hearing people yell and scream as if we won a championship game. The adrenaline rush that comes at the last few crucial seconds before downing a boss is refreshing. I love it.
2) Eating Feasts – Why? besides getting a food buff, I love how everyone sits around the feast. Yes, sometimes that doesn’t always happen, but it happens the majority of the time. It also reminds me of how family sits at the dinner table, and talk about each others day. 🙂
3) Random Hilarious Stuff – Last night was weird. We had people dying to Rocket Boots, or after receiving a Mass Rez. It’s really funny to be walking back to a boss after wiping on an attempt, and then all of a sudden a player you’ve been running along with dies out of nowhere. Funny stuff keeps me awake and in a good mood. I couldn’t help but laugh at the crazy stuff that was happening last night. I love it.
So what are you favorite parts of raiding? besides loot, because everyone loves that part! 😛
