So I was looking at WordPress.com, because I was comparing prices for hosting to GoDaddy. I found a blog that had a post about her pen stealing habits. Well, I have a confession. I don’t steal pens, but I do collect them. I honestly don’t remember when my pen collecting started, but I did notice it being a problem in High School. I would find pens abandoned, and they still worked! So I would keep them. I guess in a way, it is stealing…
Where did it all start? – I think my pen collecting habit started when I needed a pen one day, and I didn’t have one available to me. Now I have this mentality of “What if this pen don’t work?” or “What if I am not allowed to use this color of pen?” The other day, I counted 19 pens in my backpack. Are they my favorite kind of pen? No.
Picky Pen Picker – Believe it or not, I am a picky pen picker. I cannot stand Ballpoint pens. I like Gel and Ink pens. My favorite ones are ones made by Uniball and Pilot. I like having the various colors, but I like to stick to the color Black. I am a left-hander so as you can imagine; I smear when I write with a pen. That brings me to my next quality I look for in a pen. It has to write smoothly. It has to have a good enough flow of ink so I don’t smear, yet still give enough ink for contrast on paper.
Trying to get it under control – It actually is a lot harder to do that, especially because I recently got into adding Pencils to my collection. My husband loves mechanical pencils, while I prefer the old school wooden ones; I keep both in my collection. The other day after getting out of my Biology class, I found a pencil on the grass as I was walking to the library. I had to remind myself that “Hey, don’t pick it up. If it’s there when you get walk to Math class, then pick it up.” Sure enough, the pencil was there as I was walking to my Math class. So I picked it up. It’s mine now! *sneaky eyes*
